Every PS3 owner should get LittleBigPlanet. It's like a modern-day Super Mario Bros. It's rated E. You can go online and chat with people, create your own levels and publish them for other people to play and rate. And you can also play in other people's levels. It gets very addicting after a while. It's a good family game as well.

I would also suggest inFAMOUS. It's rated T. It's so much fun to play an the story is great! There's this explosion in Empire City, and your character, Cole MacGrath, gets these powers that allow him to shoot lightning out of his hands from it. You go around the city completing missions and unlocking new powers until the end of the game, where you fight the guy that set off the explosion. There's also a twist at the end of the game. :) You get to play as Evil or Good.

I'm not that experienced with Blu-Rays yet, but I suggest getting Star Trek. The new one that came out last year, directed by J.J. Abrams.

i don't know if you like racing games but if you do, i'd recommend motorstorm pacific rift. little big planet is also great. and don't forget about all the downloadable games on the PS store. you could ask for a $20 or $50 psn card so you can buy games and maybe some dlc for games you already own.
