Should I buy the new iPod touch 4g?

I have iPod touch 2g(which I can't use half the ios4 updates on) and I want a camera. But I also like the fact that I can basically use my iTouch to text people and I can't afford to pay for an iPhone because my parents won't pay my phone bill. This will be for my Christmas present btw, and I either want a controller+games+ a mic for my ps3 so I could use the mic on my current itouch and still have no camera or I can just get iPod touch 4g what do you think?
Was planning on selling it for like $120 and maybe buying some stuff for my ps3 but I really don't know this is driving me crazy

a while ago my xbox 360 was playing up and i was getting really annoyed with it since it was freezing 24/7 disconnecting from xbox live because of its terrible adapter etcetera and i traded it in for a ps3 slim however i miss my xbox despite the fact of its problems and how community focused it was and now that halo reach is going to be coming out and im a huge halo fan should i buy a new xbox that has the built in wifi?

Note i will NOT be selling my PS3 i will keep it for the sake of it.

PS3 Making a Sound While Playing?

I bought a new PS3 Slim a little over a month ago. I don't play it a lot because of work and school, but when I do play, I only play the Madden 11 game.

Anyway, while playing I've noticed that the machine is making a noise. I'm not sure if it is normal or not. It almost sounds like you can hear the disc moving from inside the console (hope that makes sense). It's not loud, but it can be noticeable.

Is this normal for a PS3, could it be that the sound is from the disc scratching something (it resembles the sound that a laptop would make if a scratched disc is put into it's drive).

I have a warranty on the PS3, so taking it back wouldn't really be that much of a hassle if that is, in fact, the problem.

I am looking for a game similar to Oblivion (not another Elder Scrolls) that can be played online with friends. I like the fact that Oblivion has hours of game play and is seemingly endless with all the skills you can improve upon. I am so confused with what console I want...
I had wanted a xbox 360 for a long time and I got one last year and have really enjoyed playing it. I thought the graphics were a tiny bit brighter and look a bit clearer than the ps3 so I went with that. I have quite a few games for it but sadly, most of my type of games are ps3 exclusives.
I have always been a HUGE Final Fantasy fan and to be honest final fantasy 13 was a complete failure. I did not enjoy it at all. I always see a game on youtube or w/e and I'm like OMG I NEED IT! and then I look at the systems and it's only for the ps3.
I really wanted Final Fantasy Versus and Final Fantasy 14 which are ps3 exclusives and the two main reasons I'm considering to switch consoles.
There's also the fact that almost every game for the xbox 360 is a first person shooter. I'm a roleplaying type of gamer and the xbox just doesn't have the things I want.

So my question is: Should I ebay my xbox 360 to buy a new ps3?

here are my thoughts:
Now where I live I have no access to high speed, but I do like to go to friends places a lot to play but I don't have a credit card and im usually not getting to play games like halo 3 and call of duty to there full potential because I don't play online. even if I could pay a month online, its not worth it and is a waste of money in my situation.

I really enjoy games like Halo, mass effect, gears of war, but I have never played any ps3 exclusives so I don't know if I would enjoy them.

I have finally realized that video games have (and are) taking up too much of my time. Being in high school now, I need to stop before it's too late... Flashing green light on 60gb ps3?

So I am considering buying a used 60gb PS3 off of the eBay labeled broken but cosmetically in "good shape". The description say it is fine except for the fact that it has a flashing green light. I'm thinking that the blinking light must indicate something that is severely impairing the systems performance if not completely halting it.
So I want to know: What would cause a 60Gb Ps3 to have a green flashing light? Moreover, to the extent that the owner would sell it for a very low price (under $100) If the issue is easily or cheaply repaired, then I will buy it.
Keep in mind that I do not have the resources to go off spending hundreds of dollars on a new ps3 slim or something like that. So please, don't recommend I buy a full price system.

Hi guys, i bought a Logitech headset recently, and it works fine for my pc, but when i try to use it on my PS3 for games all i can hear is other peoples voices and not the gameplay. i set the audio device settings the right way but still no luck. is this just a fact or can i fix it. the headsets were not cheap ones. they have an integrated mic and cost 45 euros.

I have always hated my mother...I feel she's an error in life, and without joking, she is the reason i first searched "why did god make some humans so retarded" on google, and eventually became an agnostic...

No, I don't hate her in the way you would think a "normal" (note the quotes) teenager would this days, I don't cut myself or all that, thats plain stupid (and I mean at the people that try to be "emo"to fit in, but actually aren't....not the people with actual depression)

Point is she tries to take control of my life...I'm an 99% A , 1% B 0% anything else student, yet every work I do for her is full of flaws and mistakes like spelling or grammar or art, anything, even if the professional teacher says otherwise. So she always tries to...just an example, but she does it, say I have to give MY opinion about a novel, but MY opinion is wrong in her eyes, in fact its the opposite of her opinion, so she makes me look for the "official, right, flawless opinion" online and makes me write it (I don't though, to my advantage she doesn't check it often).

Just today, and almost every weekend day, I studied for the time I needed, which took me the whole day today because of projects and all that. I usually sleep at 2am ish and she knows this, she hates it but I've done it practically since i got out of the crib.

But no, no "rewards" at all after a hard day, no, its just study and go to sleep...I cannot watch T.V or play PS3 or anything...I'm in 9th grade and I get no help (I admit I don't need it from anyone, much less my mom) and my sister does get help + she is let to sleep at whatever time (and she's a senior)

They (my mom and sister, but I don't give a fuck about my sister since she has no control over me) fuck up everything...from T.Vs to desktops to cars to life...everytime I gave my sister my laptop, a virus was found the next day....coincidence, they say.

The point is, I study alone with no one to tell me I have to study (Even though I am told, I already am studying/have studied without being told to) I get A's yet I can't get a simple reward...to use my time left...then you see the average kid and he gets C's and gets 10hrs of PS3 for that...

The point is I have a lot of friends and my family is quite big, and I hate no one in the world other than my mother and sister, and I'm forced to live with them...God knows whats next know that my sister is headed of to college, provided she isn't pregnant before that and can't go....

How can I deal with this anger?

Okay, here's the deal... I'm on BT. Our internet has been mostly fine for months, but in the last few days we've had a lot of problems. It's constantly disconnecting moments after we connect, for hours on end. Now, I know for a fact that it's still been dodgy while I've had my PS3 on, but right now, every time I turn my PS3 off, my laptop disconnects from my router and stays disconnected until I turn my PS3 back on.
How is this even possible?
I swear, there's no mistake. I've tested it a bunch of times. I found it extremely hard to believe. I can't understand it, that's why I'm asking this question.
I did that, and also restarted my laptop for good measure. I'm now connected to the internet without my PS3 being switched on, though it's running a little slow, that could be due to the problems BT are supposedly having in this area at the moment. (Though, curiously, it was running fast with my PS3 on, even though it's connected to the same router)

So, thanks for your help, I appreciate it. I still wish someone could tell me how the heck this is even possible though.

I recently got the RROD on my Xenon PRO Xbox 360 console. Given the 360's fame, and the fact that my console was purchased back in 2005, the RROD didn't really surprise me. I'm no expert in repairing consoles, so I guess it's time to go shopping for a new one. I'm a little skeptical about it, though. I don't want to deal with any more RROD's or error codes. I was told that the engineering in the more recent 360's has improved and that now there is a less chance of getting red lights, is that true? I've been looking at this arcade bundle, any thoughts?

In the past few years, I've been pretty quiet at school about my family, house, etc. Last year, in 8th grade, a few things slipped, like the fact that I own two houses, a house in Hilton Head Island, SC (ocean front, its estimated at about 1.8 million), and then one in FairFax, VA (3 story house, 5 bedrooms, 4.5 bath). The thing about my house is... I had some friends over, and they found out that I had three PS3's, three PS2's, two Wii's, and an xbox 360 plus a lot of DS's and iPods. And I have a home movie theatre in my basement also. So the next day in school every started talking and saying that I'm rich... and they still do. I have people texting me asking for money, it's ridiculous!

Honestly, I don't think my family is rich. We are wealthy -- yes, but not rich. We only have three vehicles, a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche, 2009 Cadillac Escalade, and a 2007 BMW 328i Sedan. and I stated I have a Beach House (summer home) and then my other home, where I live during spring, fall, winter.

How can people form this stuff about me and go around saying I'm rich? If anyone is, it would be my parents and they work hard, so they deserve it. But I don't want people to be forming these things about me... ugh!

Besides, we're in debt up to our knees anyways.. Business has gone down, and my parents are business people, own restaurants, real estate, etc. BUT we have cut back. I don't know our income, that is none of my business really. It's between my parents. We used to buy new vehicles every year or two, but we're not going to do that until the economy picks up. but what can I do? do you think I am spoiled or anything? like, my parents do buy everything I want, an I do have an iPhone (the new one also), but I'm not spoiled! I help my parents out, put away my dishes, make my bed, mow the grass (sometimes...), clean the pool (oh, I forgot to say we had this aswell... but its nothing special..)...

so between the pool, two houses, vehicles, and everything I have, many things unlisted, I still don't think I'm rich.

Why is my wireless connection so crap recently?

I have a NETGEAR wireless router, and a couple of days ago we had to move everything from the dining room, double bedroom and hallway to other rooms because we needed to change the carpets. As the family computer and the telephone are in the dining room, it meant we had to move those, including disconnecting the wireless router for the time being.

However, now we've set the wiress router up again and it seems as though the connection to it from other computers, laptops, ps3, etc. around the house is very crap and it's always losing connection and internet connection. It often says "Limited Connectivity" and has only one or two bars out of 5, where as before we disconnected it, it always had between 3 and 5. In fact, the router often disappears from the list of networks completely because the connection is so bad at times.

And now I'm really confused as to why this is happening. It's the same router, we have all the necessary cables attached to it. (plug and the yellow cable to connect to the phone line). But it seems as though after reconnecting it, it has been nothing but problems.

Anyone have any idea as to why this is happening all of a sudden or how to fix it? Obviously I've tried resetting the router. (disconnecting it, and reconnecting after 10 seconds), but that hasn't solved anything.

So what's up with it? :S
Ok, i think i might have solved my problem by turning the signal/ariel thing round (like a screw) to make it tighter. It seems to have made the connection stronger. :)

its the summer holidays now and my mom took my ps3 controller,computer and tv off me for no reason.(at the start of holidays) so i stopped talking to her and was very angry for days. i purposely acted depressed and stayed in my bedroom sleeping a lot. it not fair im 17 and i just got a ps3 a few months ago. i failed at college so i reapplying and all she says is to study 24 hours. how can i study 24 hours when i dont know if i got a place at college and what subjects i might get. she always angry with me all the time and now that i've been depressed and stayed in my bedroom sleeping a lot, she more angry. we havent talk for weeks even though we dont talk a lot before that. she doesnt like me and doesnt talk to me now.(my whole life in fact) not even one word. i dont even play on my ps3 alot and it makes me angry because friends and other teenager boys play more than me and i just got my ps3. i even brought new two games and i haven't even started playing on it because of her. so i wasted my money because i bet in few week or months the prices will go down. i've only got 3 games in total and thats it. what should i do?? please help me!

Ps3 Yellow Light Of Death help please!?

Hi peeps! i havn't used my Ps3 in a while, although today when i wanted to play the Ps3, i turned the consle on a green light appeared with a slight fan noise (as usual) then a "beep beep beep" showing a yellow light and then showing a red flashing light afterwards?

It is extremely annoying and i acknowledge the fact that the older models of the ps3 can have problems with the Yellow Light Of Death, i think my model of the Playstaion 3 is the 40gb. I have read up on the internet that it is DEFINETELY a hard drive problem, which seems correct due to the fact i cannot hear the Ps3'a hard drive running only the CPU fan. Although the problem here is that the 2 silver screws and the blue screw on the hard drive are stripping quite a fair bit and i don't think i can get the screw's out.

If anyone can hep me with a solution on how to get the Ps3 hard drive out or if it is nothing to do with the hard drive anyway please respond to my question i will be extremely grateful

When my husband and I began dating 5 years ago, he was kind, sweet, romantic, basically the whole nine yards. Now, he basically ignores me and he blames it on his job and says that he is highly stressed. I know for a fact that he is not cheating unless you consider a PS3 his mistress. And he has gained at least 60 pounds. Sometimes I do not even want him to touch me and he insists on being shirtless. When I see him now laying on the bed without his shirt, I honestly feel sick to my stomach. What should I do? I have tried the whole "it's for your health....' and it did not work. I have been trying for the past 2 years to get him to loose some weight put he has yet to put in any effort. It has greatly affected our sex life for now I do love him but there is no passion. What should I do?

Im having a argument on fire hazards and want to know what you guys thing. We only have 1 outlet in our room for a hd tv, ps3, stereo,cable box, and computer(speakers ect included). At first there is a power strip which all slots are full besides one for my tv stuff and a extension cord plugged into that power strip going to the other side of the room where it meets up with another power strip for the computer which also every slot but one is being used. Why does my computer keep shutting down?

Hope somebody can help me, ive looked everywhere and have finally resorted to yahoo answers

So i have a new extended battery for my laptop (HP Pavillion dv6000, special edition). I got this battery sometime around march-april while I was still at school. Here's the problem:

Since I've put this battery in my comp, it keeps randomly shutting down on me when I have it do work while it's not plugged into the AC charger.

Ex: If I make it convert a .avi video file to work on my PS3, on High Performance settings while running off the battery at 100%, it will work for maybe 10 minutes and shut off. Not power down, not hibernate or sleep, just immediately shut off.

BUT if i have it do the same thing while plugged in it works without any problems.

The weirdest thing of all is, after it shuts down from working off the battery, it won't turn back on EVEN IF IT WAS CHARGED TO 100% prior to the shutdown. I have to plug in the AC charger, wait for the comp to light up showing its charging and THEN i can turn it back on. And when i do get it back on, it will say its charging from 0%. If i let it charge to lets say 2%, and remove the plug and wait a second, IT WILL SHOW THE BATTERY AT 100% AGAIN and run fine off the battery as long as I dont make it do work (burn cds, format files, play games, etc.) In fact, the only things it can do fine off the battery is run utorrent & peerguardian, my browsers, play video files, and run itunes.

I know this is a lot of information and I dont expect any answers soon, but i NEED to know how to fix this.

*Ive checked the temp. while it runs off the battery and w/ my cooling fan its a steady 40c on High Performance, but as soon as it "dies" and I turn it back on its a whopping 68c

I asked this question on the Martial Arts section once so I decided to ask it in the boxing section to see what you guys think.

First of all I respect the sport of boxing and I respect the boxers like Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, Manny Pacquiao, Muhammad Ali etc. If any of these guys were to face someone in a street fight and punch a dude with all their force, they would get charged for murder and that's fact if you know what I mean.

But why do people like Bob Arum, Floyd Mayweather, Bernard Hopkins have a problem with MMA when MMA fighters and fans have never done anything to insult boxing as far as I can understand. Trust me, I know everybody has their opinions but when Bob Arum called MMA fans and fighters "skinheads" then that took it to a whole new level. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean you have to bring someone's race into the mix and I'm speaking as an African-American and MMA fan, so yeah MMA isn't just for beer drinking white boys Floyd "Punk A$$" Mayweather. I can name tons of black MMA fighters but I don't to write a novel on the internet.

But to be honest, this whole Boxing vs. MMA rivalry is like the PS3 vs. XBOX 360 of sports.

My sister and I are going retro video game shopping today or tomorrow :D Which of these 3 consoles do you think, with cost and best video games available kept in mind, is the best choice? My sister and I were thinking of the SNES, but we'd like your opinons!

P.S. Please keep in mind that we already own an xbox 360 and ps3, so don't bother brining up the fact that there are "better" things out there :P

so i'm VERY interested in getting 3d up and running for my ps3, and i certainly wouldn't mind a larger secondary display for my pc either. so first i found the optoma HD66 on newegg, but one of the reviews reads as follows:

Cons: 3d compatibility is a NIGHTMARE.
3d gaming is nearly unusable. There are 3 major 3d gaming drivers, and between them they cover nearly every directx game one the market. Too bad none of them work reasonably with the HD66:

iz3d: 120hz mode is in beta and is unusable.
Nvidia 3d vision: officially unsupported by nvidia (the driver technically works, and it can be hacked to make it function, but nvidia has already gone to lengths to stop the first workaround so they're likely to do so again)
tridef: doesn't support this mode.

Also, it's not hdmi 1.4 so nearly no bluray 3d players will work.

PS3 3d does not work.

3d broadcasts don't work (though some users have used an avertv dvr card to input the stream, then translate it in stereoscopic player)

Cyberlink powerdvd 10 is not compatible (it relies on 3d vision, which noted above... though it might be hackable)

In fact, stereoscopic player is about it. So you can watch downloaded clips. Whoopdeedoo.

the next one i found is the ACER x1161, which although the specs in the projectors section are confusing me somewhat, appears pretty good. it's compatible with 1080P, although it's native resolution is 800x600. i don't know if that means it defaults to 8x6 but can run 1080P, or can convert 1080P to 800x600, but i'm hoping it's the first.

and i have no clue whether it runs all the different compatibilities listed in that review, except hdmi, which it doesn't have. it has a 4000.1 contrast ratio which i know from regular monitors is really impressive for a projector. i'm also wondering about it's simple connectivity to ps3. are any of it's inputs capable of HD video from my console?

other help in general on just "will this work" greatly appreciated.

Is it worth it to buy a Macbook Pro ?

I'm about to buy my first new Macbook Pro, and change from regulars PC's I've had over time.
I'm not worried about the operational program (Windows/ OS MAC) change itself, but with the price.

The new Macbook Pro I'm about to buy, is the 13 inches, with Intel Core 2 Duo 2,4 Ghz Processor, 250GB and 4 GB Ram. And it costs about 1,100 pounds (within the MS Office for Mac installed)

And if I go to the Sony Vaio website, I can configure a Vaio E series, with the new Intel i5 Core Processor, 320GB, 4GB Ram,15 inches HighDefinition Display and Blu-Ray writer !!! And it would cost me about 780 pounds...

I mean.... the Macbook Pro is WAY more expensive, and it comes with an older processor, and less powerful components.
Is it really worth it to buy a Macbook Pro, even with this arguments??? By that I mean the Processor itself, cause the bigger Hard drive do not tempt me !!! For that I'll buy a External HD. And the Blu-Ray writer neither... I dont have that need !!!... I'm just worried about the processor and the fact that I want to download free music...
Which one should I buy...??? Please Help me !!!! I just want a computer that will last the next 5-6 years without major problems and viruses. And I wont lose all my data.... again....!!!

OBS: I use the notebook to surf in the web, download FREE music from webpages, store music, photos and movies, and do some work with the MS Office. I really DONT use it to play games. I prefer the PS3 to do that !!!!

I had my new internet (with sky) installed, and had it working fine. then one day it simply stopped working.
Now when I go to my Network settings etc. and enter my WPA key, it states "the key information timed out. the WPA key you entered may not be correct".
however, I KNOW for a fact the key i've entered is correct, and the same one used when I had it working the first time and for my laptop.

I am getting a new console on Friday, and I am seriously on the fence between a PS3 or XBOX360.

I would like to know the pros and cons for each system, and I'm going to tell you what type of gamer I am so you can tell me what you think I would enjoy more:

I like to play online BUT most of my games that I will be playing are sports games not like shooting games, i just like sports games. So like I would be spending a fair amount of time playing online but also I like to play offline. However, I love the fact that on 360 you can talk with your friends while playing offline, while on ps3 you feel kind of isolated.

However, I want to know one thing, DOES THE XBOX 360 SLIM HAVE AN OVER-HEATING ISSUE? Does it over-heat????? And what warranty does it come with?

I bought a new PS3 Slim today at Best Buy. I hooked it up and plugged the controller into the front of the console via the cable provided. Currently, the light labeled (1) is flashing a red light. I am assuming that this means that it is charging. Am I correct in this assumption?

If in fact it is charging, how will I know if the controller is fully charged? How long does it typically take to charge the controller?

I purchased my 40GB PS3 in Jan '08. Recently the fan is starting to get incredibly loud. This is annoying because of the fact I can't play too long at night, I have to turn my TV volume up very loud in order to block the noise out, and I'm getting worried it will get the YLOD. I have the PS3 vertical and it is clear of walls and the TV. I also vacuum it out but it still causes this problem. Any help?

Hi there i was just wondering two things:

1) I was wondering if anyone new, if we could create our own charictor in Dragon age 2 - rise of power, because from what ive been hearing and lookin at it seems like were going to play a charictor called hawke, and i dont understand why they'd get ride of the fact that you can create your own charitcor?

2) I just got a PS3 and my fravrote games are RPGs and i love being able to create my own charictor so I was wondering what other games were like Dragon Age, its perfect mythacal, mistacal and i can create my own charictor?

PS3 dead, out of warranty, Sony support sucks. What would you do?

PS3 got the flashing red lights. I owned it for only three years then it finally died. Two years out of warranty.

Emailed Sony if they can waive the $150 service fee 'cause my PS3 died somewhat after the 3.41 update I installed. Their online knowledge center on this flashing light said it is overheating. Just to be clear my PS3 has plenty of space around it to "breathe", vents are not blocked, and I occasionally use compressed air to clean dust out, hell the house is always cool during the summer time with the A/C on. All I do is play it.

I know an update can't kill your PS3 so since I was out of warranty and it did happen after the update I thought I would use that against Sony but they didn't even acknowledge what I typed about the update might have caused my PS3 failure and flat out denied my request for waiver in the email.

So here I am a Sony PS fan. Having owned the PSone, PS2, and currently owning a PSP and a dead PS3. I feel angry, sad, confused... that, ok I understand the waiver denied but they didn't even acknowledge the possible failure with the update. They could have put in the reply that an update could not have caused the flashing red light, but no, it's like I never typed it.

I have all these games and hardware I bought for the PS3 useless now... what do I do now? Should I buy another PS3 so that it can die out of warranty again? Should I pay the $150 service fee so I can get back a refurbished one which will die yet again?

Purchasing the other consoles are not an option. I hate the Wii with it's boring games, Xbox hardware will always fail and I'm not too excited about their slim model and paying yearly for Xbox live so that you can be banned for weeks or months because some kid complained to Microsoft that I've been owing him too much on Halo is retarded. I hate PC gaming needing to constantly upgrade the video card to get graphic satisfaction. PS3 is the only console I liked but I feel like Sony bent me over and basically raped me, so I'm at a lost as what to do....

For all you PS3 owners that had failures and out-of-warranty. I'm curious what you guys/gals would do? Myself, I am considering purchasing a new PS3 even though Sony doesn't support me because of the games I have purchased and the hardware like the headset, Eyetoy, keypad I bought. It seems I have no choice. I am only considering this though because I have a feeling even the new PS3 slim will die and it will die out-of-warranty. In fact I know it will die. I took very well care of my current dead PS3 for three years and it died. There is no way the slim will last the next seven years (the ten year console cycle) even with proper care. I think I should just quit this gaming generation and wait for the next one.... anyway I want your opinion on this as if it has happened to you or if it did actually happen to you. I'll decide on what I'll do but I'm just curious about what you would do.

Image ghosting on new TV?

I just got a new Vizio SV320XVT and I am currently using it as a computer monitor and for my Xbox 360 and PS3.

When I play games, it looks AMAZING. When I am on my computer, it looks AMAZING. When I watch movies... crap... lol.

I have tried two movies so I know its not just my DVD, but I am noticing that even though the movie 'flows' really well, and the quality is just swell, I am seeing a lot of image ghosting, or I think that's the term, and it is REALLY annoying.

Just a quick fact, I got it B-stock because I'm a college student who can't afford another TV of this quality for $700, and because I know someone who works in corporate for Vizio, and he assured me B-stock works just as well.

I have 90-days to return it if it needs to be, but I really don't want to if necessary. Is this going to be something that will wear off after a while, or is it just this one TV or...? I don't know. I'm thinking it's just this one because I have yet to read bad reviews on this model.

Anyways, thanks for all input related to my issue. I really appreciate it. =)

So i have a ps3 and own at least one game of like every gaming category, but i have never tried heavy rain. i keep hearing how good it is, but that if you like modern warfare 2 then its not your type, well i do love that game so should i try heavy rain or no?
